Учитель Православия, наставник монашествующих и утешитель скорбящих, духоносный отец, стяжавший венец добродетелей и святости. Благодатные дарования, почивавшие на приснопоминаемом Старце, его благочестие и сугубое молитвенное предстательство за весь мир уподобляют егодревним преподобным отцам-пустынникам. В лице Батюшки Николая Церковь видела продолжение неугасимого духа Старчества. "Столп Русского Старчества", - так назвал Батюшку Николая Святейший Патриарх Московский и всея Руси Алексий II.

В наши апостасийные времена Блаженный старец отдал себя всецело служению Церкви:"Я все отдал людям, народу Божию и Матери-Церкви, теперь я готов и ухожу ко Сладчайшему Спасителю мира". На девятый день по блаженной кончине Батюшка Николай явился священнику и благословил записать Тропарь. Тогда же Старец явился иконописице благословил написать его образ. Икона вскоре обидьно замироточила и благоухает.
