прозрачный лес задумал утонуть,
the transparent forest planned to drown,
в потоке сладостных лучей искал кусочки счастья.
I was looking for pieces of happiness in the stream of sweet rays.
кричал,смеялся истерично
screamed and laughed hysterically
пугал лесных зверей
scared forest animals
и слушал каждый шорох тихой речки
and listened to every rustle of the quiet river
испугался : вдруг она мертва?
I was scared: what if she’s dead?
а эти греки только говорят,что нагоняют ветер?
and these Greeks only say that they are catching up with the wind?
вдруг ее голос - это стоны мертвых рыб?
What if her voice is the moaning of dead fish?
и то,куда она бежит,зовется адом?
and where she runs is called hell?
лес затаился :
the forest is hidden:
долго он смотрел в зеленую ночную реку
for a long time he looked into the green night river
надеялся,что с речкой будет чудо.
I hoped that there would be a miracle with the river.
но чуда не было.
but there was no miracle.
и из темноты,из самой гущи синих елей
and from the darkness, from the very thick of the blue spruce trees
явилось гадкое и злое
the vile and evil appeared
с громким рыком или тихим стоном
with a loud roar or a quiet groan
вонючее,липкое чужое существо.
stinking, sticky alien creature.
оно увидело,что лес почти не дышит
it saw that the forest was almost not breathing
что веточки зависли душной в пустоте
that the branches hovered in the stuffy void
решило говорить,и лес его послушал..
decided to speak, and the forest listened to him..
сказал,что очень хочет к реченьке прильнуть
said that he really wants to cling to the river
но существо твердит : нет ничего приятней суши,нет ничего приятней темноты..
but the creature repeats: there is nothing more pleasant than sushi, there is nothing more pleasant than darkness...
прозрачный лес понял существо,и медленно корнями к суше начал выбираться...
the transparent forest understood the creature, and slowly began to climb out with its roots towards land...
а тут вышло солнце,и лес начал загораться
and then the sun came out and the forest began to light up
и он кричал,и ветвями начал ветер зазывать,
and he shouted, and began to call the wind with his branches,
но правда ветер делал только хуже..
but the truth was that the wind only made things worse...
хочу воды,корнями к реченьке прильнуть...
I want water, I want to cling to the river with my roots...
но было слишком поздно :
but it was too late:
корешки застыли в твердой суше
the roots froze in hard dry land
тут лес отчаялся : и правда померла...
here the forest despaired: and the truth died...
оставила меня,а сама тихонько зарастает..
left me, and quietly overgrows itself...
зачем нужна мне мертвая вода?
Why do I need dead water?
лес решил укутаться в дыму,не слушал тихий голос речки,поверил гадкому,чужому существу
the forest decided to wrap itself in smoke, did not listen to the quiet voice of the river, believed the disgusting, alien creature
сгорел дотла
burned to the ground
так и не понять этих сладких слов,что постоянно говорит вода.
I never understand these sweet words that the water constantly says.
