Величие высоты, твердь чистоты, вид неба в славном явлении!
Greatness of height, firmness of purity, the view of the sky in a glorious phenomenon!

Солнце, когда оно является, возвещает о них при восходе: чудное создание, дело Всевышнего!
The sun, when it is, announces them at sunrise: a wonderful creation, the work of the Almighty!

В полдень свой оно иссушает землю, и пред жаром его кто устоит?
At noon, it dries the earth, and who will stand it before it?

Распаляют горн для работ плавильных, но втрое сильнее солнце палит горы: дыша пламенем огня и блистая лучами, оно ослепляет глаза.
The mountains are plowed for the work of melting, but three times the sun is more pronounced: breathing with a flame of fire and shining with rays, it blinds the eyes.

Велик Господь, Который сотворил его, и по слову Его оно поспешно пробегает путь свой.
The Lord is great, who created him, and, according to him, it hastily runs through his path.

И луна всем в свое время служит указанием времен и знамением века:
And the moon at one time serves as an indication of the times and the sign of the century:

от луны - указание праздника; свет ее умаляется по достижении ею полноты;

месяц называется по имени ее; она дивно возрастает в своем изменении;

это - глава вышних строев; она сияет на тверди небесной;

красота неба, слава звезд, блестящее украшение, владыка на высотах!
The beauty of the sky, the glory of the stars, the brilliant decoration, the lord at the heights!

По слову Святаго звезды стоят по чину и не устают на страже своей.
According to the holy, stars stand on the rank and do not get tired of their guard.

Взгляни на радугу, и прославь Сотворившего ее: прекрасна она в сиянии своем!
Take a look at the rainbow, and glorify it to create it: she is beautiful in her radiance!

Величественным кругом своим она обнимает небо; руки Всевышнего распростерли ее.
She hugs the sky with a majestic circle; The hands of the Almighty spread her.

Повелением Его скоро сыплется снег, и быстро сверкают молнии суда Его.
His command soon sprinkles snow, and the lightning of his trial quickly sparkles.

Отверзаются сокровищницы и вылетают из них облака, как птицы.
The treasures open and the clouds fly out of them like birds.

Могуществом Своим Он укрепляет облака, и разбиваются камни града;
He strengthens the clouds with his power, and city stones break;

от взора Его потрясаются горы, и по изволению Его веет южный ветер.
From his gaze, the mountains are amazing, and the southern wind blows by his thorough.

Голос грома Его приводит в трепет землю, и северная буря и вихрь.
His voice brings his thunder into the thrill of the ground, and the northern storm and a whirlwind.

Он сыплет снег, подобно летящим вниз крылатым, и ниспадение его - как опускающаяся саранча;
He sprinkles snow, like a winged one flying down, and his fall - like a falling locust;

красоте белизны его удивляется глаз, и ниспадению его изумляется сердце.
His eye is surprised at the beauty of whiteness, and his heart is amazed at his subsidelion.

И как соль, рассыпает Он по земле иней, который, замерзая, делается остроконечным.
And like a salt, he scatters on the ground of an iris, who, freezing, is made pointed.

Подует северный холодный ветер, - и из воды делается лед: он расстилается на всяком вместилище вод, и вода облекается как бы в латы;
The north cold wind will blow, and ice is made from the water: it is spread out into any accommodation of the waters, and the water is clothed as if in armor;

поядает горы, и пожигает пустыню, и, как огонь, опаляет траву.
Mountains appear, and lives the desert, and, like fire, scorches the grass.

Но скорым исцелением всему служит туман; появляющаяся роса прохлаждает от зноя.
But fog is a quick healing of everything; The emerging dew cools from the heat.

Повелением Своим Господь укрощает бездну и насаждает на ней острова.
With his command, the Lord tame the abyss and imposes the islands on it.

Плавающие по морю рассказывают об опасностях на нем, и мы дивимся тому, что слышим ушами нашими:
Swimming by the sea talk about the dangers on it, and we divide what we hear by our ears:

ибо там необычайные и чудные дела, разнообразие всяких животных, роды чудовищ.
For there are extraordinary and wonderful deeds, the variety of all kinds of animals, the birth of monsters.

Чрез Него все успешно достигает своего назначения, и все держится словом Его.
Through him, everything successfully reaches his destination, and everything holds it with the word.

Многое можем мы сказать, и, однако же, не постигнем Его, и конец слов: Он есть всё.
We can say a lot, and, however, we will not comprehend him, and the end of the words: he is everything.

Где возьмем силу, чтобы прославить Его? ибо Он превыше всех дел Своих.
Where will we get power to glorify it? For he is above all his affairs.

Страшен Господь и весьма велик, и дивно могущество Его!
The Lord is terrible and very great, and marvelously His power!

Прославляя Господа, превозносите Его, сколько можете, но и затем Он будет превосходнее;
Glorifying the Lord, extol him as much as you can, but then he will be more excellent;

и, величая Его, прибавьте силы: но не трудитесь, ибо не постигнете.
And, magnifying him, add strength: but do not work, for you will not comprehend.

Кто видел Его, и объяснит? и кто прославит Его, как Он есть?
Who saw him and explain it? And who will glorify him, how is he?

Много сокрыто, что гораздо больше сего; ибо мы видим малую часть дел Его.
A lot is hidden, which is much more than this; For we see a small part of his affairs.

Всё сотворил Господь, и благочестивым даровал мудрость.
The Lord created everything, and the pious granted wisdom.
