Then the lot fell out for the sons of Joseph: from the Jordan by Jericho, by the waters of Jericho eastward, the wilderness that extends from Jericho to Mount Bethel;

from Bethel the border goes out to Luz, and passes over to the border of Archa as far as Ataroth,

and goes down to the sea, to the border of Japhlet, as far as the border of lower Beth-horon, and as far as Gezer, and its ends are at the sea.

These were the inheritances of the sons of Joseph: Manasseh and Ephraim.

The border of the sons of Ephraim according to their families was this: from the east the border of their inheritance was Ataroth-Adar as far as upper Beth-horon;

then the border goes out toward the sea by the north side of Michmethath, and turns toward the east side of Taanath-Shilom, and passes through it by the east side of Janoch;

from Janoch, going down to Ataroth and Naarath, it joins Jericho and reaches to the Jordan.

From Tappuah the border goes out to the sea, to the brook Cana, and ends at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim according to their families.

And the cities were assigned to the children of Ephraim in the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.
