Название с русскими корнями происходит от площади Bersarinplatz, расположенной в берлинском районе Фридрихсхайн и названной в честь советского генерала Николая Берзарина. Название Bersarinplatz Томас тоже однажды использовал, записав под этим именем трек для благотворительного сборника ремиксов и каверов на песню Bjork "Army of Me".
The name with Russian roots comes from BersarinPlatz, located in the Berlin district of Friedrichshein and named after the Soviet General Nikolai Berzarin. The name BersarinPlatz Thomas also once used to record under this name a track for a charitable collection of remixes and covers for the song Bjork "Army of Me".


Строго говоря, псевдо-квартет – не единственный и, наверное, даже не основной проект Бюкера. Его дискография насчитывает аж пять полнометражных релизов, изданных под именем Jean-Michel (там Томас балансирует на грани IDM и даунтемпо), однако единственный альбом Bersarin Quartett принес ему больше известности, чем те пять.
Strictly speaking, the pseudo-quartet is not the only and probably not even the main project of the bra. His discography has as many as five full-length releases published under the name Jean-Michel (there Thomas balances on the verge of IDM and downtempo), but the only album of Bersarin Quartett brought him more fame than those five.


В рамках "квартета" немец записывает довольно популярную в последние два-три года эмбиентную неоклассику, разбавляя фортепиано, струнные и духовые электронным саунд-дизайном и кое-где – вполне ощутимой ритм-секцией, заигрывая с джазом. Получается нечто среднее между немецкой индитроникой в духе Dictaphone (к этой школе, строго говоря, Бюкер и принадлежит) и величественными опусами Макса Рихтера (Max Richter) и Йохана Йоханссона (Johan Johansson).
Within the framework of the Quartet, the German records a quite popular in the last two or three years, imperial neoclassics, diluting the piano, string and winds of electronic sound design and in some places-a quite tangible rhythm-section, flirting with jazz. It turns out something between the German Inditronics in the spirit of Dictaphone (to this school, strictly speaking, Bucker belongs) and the majestic opuses of Max Richter and Johan Johansson.
