In musically, the disc is the further development of the musical ideas of the guitarist and the main composer of the group Tony Aimmy. As well as on the past two albums, on Technical Ecstasy, simple and short songs, such as “Rock 'n' Roll Doctor”, contrast with longer and complex songs, such as “You Won ' "And" Dirty Women ". The source material was somewhat spoiled by unimportant producing, and therefore could not repeat the commercial success of his predecessor, the album “Sabotage”.

Nevertheless, partly thanks to beautiful songs, and partly due to the loud name of Black Sabbath, this album was steadily sold and finally received its Platinum in the UK and Gold in the United States. The Technical Ecstasy reached 13th place in the chart of Great Britain and the 51st place in the hit parade of the American magazine Billboard.
