Dave Kirvel was born in Krefeld, Germany on April 3, 1972. In the early 90s, he founded a techno-industrial project from himself called Pierrepoint. After the release of the musician's first works - the album Slices Of Death (1993) and the single Eibon (1994) - it became clear that a new bright name had appeared on the world industrial scene.

Kirvel became one of the first German and world musicians who began to actively use industrial noise effects in electronic body music, thus expanding the boundaries of traditional EBM. In this sense, his music stands somewhere in the middle between the classic technogenic EBM and the hard techno-industrial experiments of Dirk Ivens. Some tracks from the album The Being, released in 1995, sound in a style that a couple of years later would gain strength and gain worldwide popularity under the name power-noise.

In 1996, with the release of the maxi-single Idolized, Pierrepoint gained the sympathy of the American audience. From this moment on, Kirvel becomes a world-famous musician. Further albums of the project, with a heavier and cybernetic sound, consolidated this title, and now Pierrepoint is already quite often mentioned by young musicians as a group that greatly influenced the formation of their style.
