Мелодия популярной песни «All by myself», появившейся в 1975 году и наиболее известной в исполнении Celine Dion, была полностью заимствована её автором американским музыкантом Эриком Карменом из Концерта № 2 для фортепиано с оркестром Рахманинова. Первоначально Кармен полагал, что данное произведение находится в общественном достоянии, и выяснил, что это не так, лишь после официального выпуска своей пластинки. Из-за этого ему пришлось улаживать все юридические вопросы с наследниками Рахманинова и указывать имя Сергея Рахманинова как официального автора музыки к песне.
The melody of the popular song "All by Myself", which appeared in 1975 and the most famous performed by Celine Dion, was fully borrowed by its author of the American musician Eric Carmen from the concert number 2 for piano with the Rakhmaninov orchestra. Initially, Carmen believed that this work was in public domain, and found out that this was not true, only after the official release of his record. Because of this, he had to settle all legal issues with the heirs of Rachmaninov and indicate the name of Sergei Rachmaninov as an official music author for the song.
