1 На стражу мою стал я и, стоя на башне, наблюдал, чтобы узнать, что скажет Он во мне, и что мне отвечать по жалобе моей?
1 I stood on my watch, and stood on the tower, watching to know what He would say to me, and what I should answer concerning my complaint.
2 И отвечал мне Господь и сказал: запиши видение и начертай ясно на скрижалях, чтобы читающий легко мог прочитать,
2 Then the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision, and engrave it plainly on tables, that he who reads it may easily read it.
3 ибо видение относится еще к определенному времени и говорит о конце и не обманет; и хотя бы и замедлило, жди его, ибо непременно сбудется, не отменится.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, and speaks of the end, and will not lie. And though it tarry, wait for it, for it will certainly come to pass, it will not be undone.
4 Вот, душа надменная не успокоится, а праведный своею верою жив будет.
4 Behold, the proud soul will not rest, but the just will live by his faith.
5 Надменный человек, как бродящее вино, не успокаивается, так что расширяет душу свою как ад, и как смерть он ненасытен, и собирает к себе все народы, и захватывает себе все племена.
5 The proud man, like fermenting wine, will not rest, so that he enlarges his soul like hell, and like death he is insatiable, and gathers to himself all nations, and seizes upon himself all peoples.
6 Но не все ли они будут произносить о нем притчу и насмешливую песнь: "горе тому, кто без меры обогащает себя не своим, - на долго ли? - и обременяет себя залогами!"
6 But will they not all take up a proverb and a mocking song against him: "Woe to him who enriches himself beyond measure with what is not his own, and how long? And burdens himself with pledges!"
7 Не восстанут ли внезапно те, которые будут терзать тебя, и не поднимутся ли против тебя грабители, и ты достанешься им на расхищение?
7 Will not those who will tear you down suddenly arise, and will not the robbers rise up against you, and you will become their spoil?
8 Так как ты ограбил многие народы, то и тебя ограбят все остальные народы за пролитие крови человеческой, за разорение страны, города и всех живущих в нем.
8 Because you have robbed many nations, all the nations will also rob you for the shedding of human blood, for the destruction of the country, the city, and all who live in it.
9 Горе тому, кто жаждет неправедных приобретений для дома своего, чтобы устроить гнездо свое на высоте и тем обезопасить себя от руки несчастья!
9 Woe to him who covets unjust gain for his house, to make his nest on high, and so to secure himself from the hand of disaster!
10 Бесславие измыслил ты для твоего дома, истребляя многие народы, и согрешил против души твоей.
10 You have devised dishonor for your house, to destroy many nations, and have sinned against your own soul.
11 Камни из стен возопиют и перекладины из дерева будут отвечать им:
11 The stones of the wall shall cry out, and the beams of wood shall answer them,
12 "горе строящему город на крови и созидающему крепости неправдою!"
12 "Woe to him who builds a city with blood, and who builds a fortress by iniquity!"
13 Вот, не от Господа ли Саваофа это, что народы трудятся для огня и племена мучат себя напрасно?
13 Behold, is it not the Lord of hosts that the nations toil for the fire, and the people torment themselves in vain?
14 Ибо земля наполнится познанием славы Господа, как воды наполняют море.
14 For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
15 Горе тебе, который подаешь ближнему твоему питье с примесью злобы твоей и делаешь его пьяным, чтобы видеть срамоту его!
15 Woe to you, who give your neighbor drink mingled with your own wickedness, and make him drunk, that you may see his shame!
16 Ты пресытился стыдом вместо славы; пей же и ты и показывай срамоту, - обратится и к тебе чаша десницы Господней и посрамление на славу твою.
16 You are full of shame instead of glory; drink now, and show your shame, and the cup of the Lord's right hand shall be turned to you, and shame upon your glory.
17 Ибо злодейство твое на Ливане обрушится на тебя за истребление устрашенных животных, за пролитие крови человеческой, за опустошение страны, города и всех живущих в нем.
17 For your wickedness in Lebanon will come upon you, for the destruction of the wild beasts, for the shedding of human blood, for the desolation of the country, the city, and all who live in it.
18 Что за польза от истукана, сделанного художником, этого литаго лжеучителя, хотя ваятель, делая немые кумиры, полагается на свое произведение?
18 What good is the graven image of a craftsman, this cast-iron teacher, though the sculptor trusts in his work when he makes dumb images?
19 Горе тому, кто говорит дереву: "встань!" и бессловесному камню: "пробудись!" Научит ли он чему-нибудь? Вот, он обложен золотом и серебром, но дыхания в нем нет.
19 Woe to him who says to wood, "Arise!" and to dumb stone, "Awake!" Will he teach anything? Behold, he is overlaid with gold and silver, but there is no breath in him.
20 А Господь - во святом храме Своем: да молчит вся земля пред лицем Его!
20 But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth hold silence before him!
