И было слово Господне к Ионе вторично:
And there was a word of the Lord to Jonah secondly:
встань, иди в Ниневию, город великий, и проповедуй в ней, что Я повелел тебе.
Get up, go to Nineveh, the city is great, and preach in it that I commanded you.
И встал Иона и пошел в Ниневию, по слову Господню; Ниневия же была город великий у Бога, на три дня ходьбы.
And Jonah stood up and went to Nineveh, according to the Lord; Ninevia was a great city among God, for three days walking.
И начал Иона ходить по городу, сколько можно пройти в один день, и проповедывал, говоря: еще сорок дней и Ниневия будет разрушена!
And Jonah began to walk around the city, how much you can go on one day, and preached, saying: for another forty days and Nineveh will be destroyed!
И поверили Ниневитяне Богу, и объявили пост, и оделись во вретища, от большого из них до малого.
And the Ninevites believed to God, and announced a post, and dressed in the deposits, from a large of them to small.
Это слово дошло до царя Ниневии, и он встал с престола своего, и снял с себя царское облачение свое, и оделся во вретище, и сел на пепле,
This word reached the king of Nineveh, and he stood from his throne, and took off his royal vestments, and dressed in the deposit, and sat on ash,
и повелел провозгласить и сказать в Ниневии от имени царя и вельмож его: чтобы ни люди, ни скот, ни волы, ни овцы ничего не ели, не ходили на пастбище и воды не пили,
And he ordered to proclaim and say in Nineveh on behalf of the tsar and his nobles: so that neither people, nor cattle, nor ox, nor sheep would not attend anything, they did not go to the pasture and drank water,
и чтобы покрыты были вретищем люди и скот и крепко вопияли к Богу, и чтобы каждый обратился от злого пути своего и от насилия рук своих.
And so that people and cattle were covered to be covered and crushed firmly to God, and that everyone turned from his evil path and his hands.
Кто знает, может быть, еще Бог умилосердится и отвратит от нас пылающий гнев Свой, и мы не погибнем.
Who knows, maybe God is still peaceful and turn off our glowing anger, and we will not perish.
И увидел Бог дела их, что они обратились от злого пути своего, и пожалел Бог о бедствии, о котором сказал, что наведет на них, и не навел.
And God saw their deeds that they turned from his evil path, and God regretted the disaster, about whom he said that he would bring them to them, and did not lead.
