The group was formed in 1982 in the United States by the efforts of Tony Trollo - a guitar, vocals; Matt Vinci - Basitara; Frank Corteza - drums. Initially, the trio (called Deceiver) copied the famous hits of such English groups as Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, and this laid out a print on the style of the group.

Then the vocalist and the second guitarist joined the trio, the group took the name Liege Lord, and the independent French company Black Dragon agreed to release the debut album, Freedom's Rise, which made a real furor in the world of Havi-metal. After a series of changes in the composition of the Liege Lord, the second album was recorded, "Burn to My Touch", in which the elements of the TRZSH-metal are audition, although, in general, the style of the group at that time is closer to AIDS-methal with virtuoso ballad inserts.
