За эльфийскими лесами, за холмами гномьих нор,
Over the elven forests, behind the hills of gnome holes,
С их ночными чудесами, в царстве мрачных, серых гор,
With their night wonders, in the kingdom of gloomy, gray mountains,
Там где скалы недотроги, там рукой подать до звёзд,
Where the rocks are notading, there is hand to the stars there,
Там определили боги, место для драконьих гнёзд.
They defined the gods, the place for dragon nits.


Чудны горные короны, в них алмазом светит лёд,
Wonderful mountain crowns, the diamond is shining with a diamond,
И весной, когда драконы, начинали свой полёт,
And in the spring, when dragons, started their flight,
Живописцы, менестрели, те кто ценит красоту,
Painters, minstrels, those who appreciate beauty,
Приходили и смотрели, в голубую высоту.

Где драконы танцевали и решали вечный спор,

Над застывшими в оскале челюстями серых гор.

Но, не только менестрели, по ночам лишались сна,

Но, в охотничьей горячке, древний был забыт закон,
But, in hunting fever, the ancient was forgotten by law,
Наконец, из зимней спячки, вылетел один дракон,
Finally, one dragon flew out of the winter hook,
Он, летел на сильных крыльях, сделав в небе полный круг,
He flew on strong wings, making a full circle in the sky,
Он, искал в небесной, пыли выживших друзей подруг,
He was looking for in heaven, dust surviving friends friends,


Всё напрасно и упорно среди звёздной пустоты,
Everything is in vain and stubborn among the star void,
А за ним с вершины горной смотрел ценитель красоты,
And behind him, the beauty connoisseur watched from the top of the mountain
Эту дивную картину мрачным взором осмотрел,
This wonderful picture examined with a gloomy gaze,
Шапку на затылок сдвинул, молча поднял самострел.
The cap on the back of the head shifted, silently raised his sortie.
