И произошло великое землетрясение, и солнце стало черным,
And there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black
как власяница, и луна сделалась, как кровь.
as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood.


И звезды небесные пали на землю,
And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth,
как смоковница,
even as a fig tree castethher untimely figs,
когда ее потрясает сильный ветер, роняет незрелые смоквы свои.
when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
И небо скрылось, свившись, как свиток,
And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together,
и всякая гора и остров двинулись с мест своих».
and every mountain and island were moved out of their places."
Всемогущие горы и скалы, умоляю вас, падите на них.
Almighty mountains and rocks, I beg you fall on them.


Ибо наступает великий день гнева, и кто может устоять?
For the great day of wrath is coming, and who shall be able to stand?
