Ее танец пробуждает дождь,
Her dance wakes up the rain
Если она поет, восходит солнце.
If she sings, the sun rises.
У нее есть сила делать так, чтобы всё было по её воле.
She has the power to make everything happen according to her will.


Однажды гадалка пришла в замок Императора,
One day a fortune teller came to the Emperor's castle,
И предсказала, что Иурипука станет той, кто принесет и благословение и гибель.
And she predicted that Iuripuka would become the one who would bring both blessing and destruction.
И тогда в один из дней Император отправил девушку в горный храм и заключил ее там.
And then one day the Emperor sent the girl to a mountain temple and imprisoned her there.
Больше она не могла видеть свет солнца и ощущать дыхание трав,
She could no longer see the light of the sun or feel the breath of the grass,
И жила теперь как птица в клетке.
And now she lived like a bird in a cage.
Это позволило ей осознать, что она хочет быть обычной девушкой.
This allowed her to realize that she wanted to be an ordinary girl.
Тогда Иурипука отбросила своё недовольство,
Then Iuripuka cast aside her dissatisfaction,
Проводя дни в играх, песнях и танцах.
Spending the days in games, songs and dances.


Когда девушка танцевала, расцветала земля и никогда не страдала от голода.
When the girl danced, the earth blossomed and never suffered from hunger.
Иурипука думала, что эти обычные и скучные дни будут продолжаться вечно.
Iuripuka thought that these ordinary and boring days would continue forever.
Но вот однажды она влюбилась в странствующего священника, посетившего
But then one day she fell in love with a traveling priest who visited

Священник был послушником, чистым, как молодая трава.
The priest was a novice, pure as young grass.
И все же он был священником и должен был продолжать свое путешествие.
Yet he was a priest and had to continue his journey.
И так, подобно весеннему ветру, он ушел, оставив Иурипуку снова в одиночестве, и спустился с гор.
And so, like the spring wind, he left, leaving Iuripuku alone again, and descended from the mountains.
Впервые в ее жизни, сердце Иурипуки было ввергнуто в хаос.
For the first time in her life, Iuripuki's heart was thrown into chaos.
Все время она думала лишь о священнике, она горевала, тоскуя о любви.
All the time she thought only about the priest, she grieved, yearning for love.


А затем…
And then…


Слезы девушки вызвали бурление рек и превратились в затопляющие всё потоки грязи.
The girl’s tears caused the rivers to boil and turned into streams of mud that flooded everything.
Ее горестный плач стал темными облаками, что совсем закрыли солнце.
Her sorrowful cry became dark clouds that completely blocked the sun.
Ее шепот обратился нашествием саранчи, уничтожившей землю и деревни.
Her whisper turned into a plague of locusts that destroyed the land and villages.
И даже хуже – молодой священник был пойман теми мутными потоками,
And even worse - the young priest was caught by those muddy streams,
И погиб, превратившись в водную пыль.
And he died, turning into water dust.
Когда Иурипука наконец осознала, что убила своего любимого и уничтожила все земли,
When Iuripuka finally realized that she had killed her beloved and destroyed all the lands,
Ее печаль была столь глубокой, что она не смогла продолжать жить и бросилась в грязный поток.
Her sadness was so deep that she could not continue living and threw herself into the dirty stream.


И с тех пор погода стала такой
And since then the weather has become like this
непредсказуемой, какой мы знаем
unpredictable as we know it
ее сегодня.
