Весенними вечерами все в лесу танцуют: Заяц — с Белкой, Дятел — с Синицей, Медвежонок — с Осликом, и даже старый Волк ходит вокруг старого пня и нет-нет — присядет под музыку...
On spring evenings, everyone in the forest is dancing: the Hare - with the Squirrel, the Woodpecker - with the Tit, the Bear Cub - with the Donkey, and even the old Wolf walks around the old stump and no, no, he will sit down to the music ...
«Кря! Кря!» — кричат утки с реки.
“Quack! Quack! " - shout ducks from the river.
«Ква! Ква!» — вторят им лягушки.
"Kwa! Kwa! " - the frogs echo them.
«Уф-ф!..» — вздыхает Филин. Он так не любит светлых весенних вечеров...
"Phew! .." - Owl sighs. He does not like bright spring evenings so much ...
«Вот все веселятся, — думает Ёжик, гуляя по тропинке между двух елочек. — Все пляшут и поют. А потом устанут и лягут спать. А я не лягу спать! Я буду гулять до самого утра, а когда ночь станет кончаться, пойду на горку и встречу рассвет...»

И луна уже блестит на небе, и звезды садятся вокруг нее кружком, и засыпает Заяц, прячется в дупле Белка, уходит к себе домой Медвежонок, бежит мимо Ёжика Ослик, Волк зевает во всю свою волчью пасть, да так и засыпает с разинутой пастью,а Ёжик все ходит по тропинке от елочки к елочке, между двух сосен, и ждет рассвета.
And the moon is already shining in the sky, and the stars are setting around it in a circle, and the Hare falls asleep, the Squirrel hides in the hollow, the Bear goes to his home, the Donkey runs past the Hedgehog, the Wolf yawns with all its wolf's mouth, and so it falls asleep with an open mouth, and the Hedgehog still walks along the path from tree to tree, between two pines, and waits for dawn.
«Пойду-ка я на горку!» — говорит он сам себе. И по дороге придумывает, какой он может быть — весенний рассвет.
"I'll go up the hill!" He says to himself. And on the way he comes up with what it could be - a spring dawn.
«Зеленый, — думает Ёжик. — Все весной — зеленое!»
“Green,” thinks the Hedgehog. - Everything is green in spring! "
А на горке дует свежий ветерок, и Ёжику холодно. Но он все равно ходит взад и вперед по самой верхушке и ждет рассвета.
A fresh breeze is blowing on the hill, and the Hedgehog is cold. But he still walks up and down the very top and waits for dawn.
— Ну же! — бормочет Ёжик. — Где же ты? Мне уже холодно!..
- Come on! - the Hedgehog mutters. - Where are you? I'm already cold! ..
А рассвета все нет.
And still there is no dawn.
«Где это он задерживается? — думает ежик. — Он наверно, проспал!»
“Where is he staying? - the hedgehog thinks. "He must have overslept!"
И сам ложится на землю, свертывается клубочком и тоже решает немного поспать, а потом сразу проснуться, когда придет рассвет.
And he himself lies down on the ground, curls up into a ball and also decides to sleep a little, and then immediately wake up when dawn comes.
И засыпает...
And falls asleep ...
А рассвет приходит синий-синий, в белых клочьях тумана. Он дует на Ёжика, и Ёжик шевелит иголками.
And the dawn comes blue-blue, in white wisps of fog. He blows on the Hedgehog, and the Hedgehog moves the needles.
— Спит... — шепчет рассвет.
- Asleep ... - whispers the dawn.
И начинает улыбаться. И чем шире он улыбается, тем светлее становится вокруг.
And he starts to smile. And the wider he smiles, the brighter it becomes around.
И когда Ёжик открывает глаза, он видит солнышко. Оно плывет по уши в тумане и кивает ему головой.
And when the Hedgehog opens his eyes, he sees the sun. It floats head over heels in the fog and nods its head to him.
