Мелодия популярной песни «All by Myself», появившейся в 1975 году и наиболее известной в исполнении Селин Дион, была полностью заимствована её автором американским музыкантом Эриком Карменом из Концерта № 2 для фортепиано с оркестром Рахманинова. Первоначально Кармен полагал, что данное произведение находится в общественном достоянии, и выяснил, что это не так, лишь после официального выпуска своей пластинки. Из-за этого ему пришлось улаживать все юридические вопросы с наследниками Рахманинова и указывать имя Сергея Рахманинова как официального автора музыки к песне.
The melody of the popular song “All By Myself”, which appeared in 1975 and the most famous of Selin Dion, was completely borrowed by its author by American musician Eric Carmen from concert No. 2 for the piano with the Rachmaninov Orchestra. Initially, Carmen believed that this work was in a public property, and found out that this is not so, only after the official issue of his record. Because of this, he had to settle all the legal issues with the heirs of Rachmaninov and indicate the name of Sergei Rachmaninov as an official author of music for the song.
