The Dubliners - All For Me Grog

The name of the drink comes from the nickname of the British Vice Admiral Edward Vernon (Edward Vernon; 1684-1757)-Old Grog (Old Grog). In those days, the daily diet of the sailors of the British Royal Fleet included a portion of Roma, which periodically caused disciplinary problems and drunkenness of the sailors. In order to reduce the effect of alcohol on the sailors, Admiral Vernon ordered to distribute rum with only diluted water, cold or hot, depending on the situation. The drink fell in love with the drink, using particular popularity in the cold season. In honor of the cloak from Fai, which Admiral Vernon wore in bad weather and which was called Grogram Cloak in English, a mixture of rum with water began to be called "Slog".

For I spent all me tin on the lassies drinking gin,

Far across the western ocean I must wander.
Far Across The Western Ocean I Must Wander.

Where are me boots, me noggin', noggin' boots,
WHERE ARE Me Boots, Me Noggin ', Noggin' Boots,
They're all gone for beer and tobacco.
They're all gone for beer and tobacco.
For the heels they are worn out and the toes are kicked about
For the Heels they Aren Out and the Toes are Kicked ABOUT
And the soles are looking out for better weather.
And the soles are loking out for better Weather.

Well it's all for me grog, me jolly jolly grog,
Well it "All for Me Grog, Me Jolly Jolly Grog,
It's all for me beer and tobacco.
It's all for me beer and tobacco.
For I spent all me tin on the lassies drinking gin,
