1 Passing through amphipol and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonik, where there was a Jewish synagogue.
2 Paul, as usual, entered them and spoke with them for three Saturdays,
3 Opening and proving them that Christ was to suffer and resurrect from the dead and that this Christ is Jesus whom I preach to you.
4 and some of them believed and joined Paul and the Force, both from the Elins who honor God, there are a great many, and from noble women there are a lot.
5 But the non -assigned Jews, being blessed and taking some worthless people from the square, gathered in a crowd and outraged the city and, starting to Jason’s house, and harassed to bring them to the people.
6, without finding them, led Jason and some brothers to the city chiefs, shouting that these all -world outrageous outrageous people came here,
7 And Jason accepted them, and all of them come against the commandments of Caesar, revered to the other king, Jesus.
8 and alarmed the people and the city chiefs who listened to this.
9 But these, having received a certificate from Jason and others, released them.
The 10th brothers immediately sent Paul and strength to Veria, where they arrived, went to the Jewish synagogue.
11 The local ones were more significant than the Fessalonika: they accepted the word with all zeal, daily analyzing the scriptures, whether this is exactly the case.
12 and many of them believed, and there are a lot of people from the Ellinsky honorary women and men.
13 But when the Fessalonik Jews found out that the Word of God was preached in Veria, they also came there, exciting and disturbing the people.
14 Then the brothers immediately released Paul, as if going to the sea; And strength and Timothy remained there.
15 The accompanying Paul spent him to Athens and, having received an order to force and Timothy, so that they would rather come to him, go.
16 In anticipation of them in Athens, Pavel was indignant at the sight of this city full of idols.
17 So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and with the honor of God, and daily in the square with those meeting.
18 Some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers began to argue with him; And some said: “What does this Suezlov want to say?”, And others: “It seems that he is preaching about other people's deities,” because he had the gospel of Jesus and the Resurrection.
19 and, taking it, they brought to the areopagus and said: can we know what kind of new teaching that is preached by you?
20 For something strange you are inhibited into our ears. Therefore, we want to know what it is?
21 Athenians, all and their foreigners living in them did not spend time more willingly, as to say or listen to something new.
22 and, becoming Pavel among the Areopaga, said: Athenians! I see all that you are, as it were, especially devout.
This, whom you, without knowing, honor, I preach to you.
24 God, who created the world and everything that in him, He, being the Lord of Heaven and Earth, does not live in man -made temples
25 and does not require the service of human hands, as if having a need for anything, giving everything to life and breathing and everything.
26 from one blood, he produced the whole human race for habitat throughout the face of the Earth, prescribing predetermined times and limits of their inhabitation,
27 so that they look for God, will they not feel him and will not find him, although he is not far from each of us:
28 For we live and move them and exist, like some of your poems said: "We and his family."
29 So, we, being the origin of God, should not think that the deity is like gold, or silver, or a stone, which received an image from art and human fiction.
30 So, leaving the times of ignorance, God now commands people to repent to everyone everywhere,
31 for he appointed the day that would be righteous to judge the Universe, through his husband predetermined by him, submitting a certificate to everyone, resurrecting him from the dead.
32 Hearing about the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said: we will listen to you about this at another time.
33 So Pavel came out of their midst.
34 Some men, bailiff to him, believed; Between them was Dionysius Areopagit and a woman, the name Damar, and others with them.
