Оказывается, у стихотворения Самуила Маршака "Дама сдавала в багаж" есть английский предок - "A lady sent by train freight".

Самуил Маршак сделал перевод на русский язык и кое-что поменял.

А я сделал обратный перевод его перевода.
And I made a return translation of his translation.
И тоже кое-что поменял :)

В оригинале и у Маршака сначала была маленькая собачонка, которая сбежала, и в вместо которой в багаж подложили большую приблудившуюся псину, которая типа как "за время пути могла подрасти".
In the original, Marshak first had a small dog that escaped, and in instead of which they put a large pingy, who, like "could grow up," was put in baggage.
А в моём варианте изначально было ДВЕ маленькие собачонки, а в конце осталась одна, но большая, потому, что... одна маленькая собачонка съела другую.
And in my version, there were originally two small little dogs, and in the end there was only one, but big, because ... one small dog ate another.
По-моему, так смешнее :)
