Всему свой час, и время всякому делу под небесами:
Everything has its own hour, and time to all cause under heaven:
Время родиться и время умирать,
Time to be born and time to die,
Время насаждать и время вырывать насажденья,
Time to imprison and time to tear up the planting,
Время убивать и время исцелять,
Time to kill and heal time,
Время разрушать и время строить,
Time to destroy and build time,
Время плакать и время смеяться,
Time to cry and laugh time
Время рыданью и время пляске,
Time sobbing and dance time,
Время разбрасывать камни и время складывать камни,
Time to scatter stones and time to fold stones,
Время обнимать и время избегать объятий,
Time to hug and time to avoid hugs,
Время отыскивать и время дать потеряться,
Time to find and time to get lost,
Время хранить и время тратить,
Time to store and spend time,
Время рвать и время сшивать,
Time to tear and sew time,
Время молчать и время говорить,
Time to be silent and time to speak,
Время любить и время ненавидеть,
Time to love and time to hate
Время войне и время миру.
Time to war and time to the world.
Что пользы творящему в том, над чем он трудится?
What is the benefit to the creative of what he is working on?
Я понял задачу, которую дал бог решать сынам человека:
I understood the task that God gave to solve the Sons of man:
Всё он сделал прекрасным в свой срок,
He did everything beautiful in his term,
Даже вечность вложил им в сердце, -
Even eternity put it in their hearts, -
Но чтоб дела, творимые богом,
But so that the deeds done by God,
От начала и до конца не мог постичь человек.
From the beginning to the end, a person could not comprehend.
Я узнал, что блага нет человеку,
I learned that there is no good to a person
Кроме как есть, и пить, и делать благое в жизни,
Except to eat, and drink, and make good in life,
Но даже если кто ест, и пьет, и видит благо в труде,
But even if anyone eats, and drinks, and sees the good in work,
То это - божий дар.
Then this is God's gift.
Я узнал: всё, что бог творит, - это будет вовек:
I found out: everything that God creates will be forever:
Нельзя ничего прибавить, и нельзя ничего отнять,
You can’t add anything, and you can not take anything,
А сотворил так бог, чтобы его боялись.
And God did so that he would be afraid.
Что было - уже есть, и чему быть - уже было,
What was already - and what to be - it was already,
А исчезнувшее бог отыщет.
And God will find the disappeared.
И то еще я увидел под солнцем:
And then I saw under the sun:
Место суда - а там нечестье,
The place of the court - and there is wickedness,
Место праведного - а там нечестивый.
The place of the righteous - and there is unholy.
Подумал я про себя:
I thought to myself:
Праведного с нечестивым бог рассудит,
God will judge the righteous with the wicked,
Ибо там есть время для каждой вещи и каждого дела.
For there is time for every thing and every business.
Подумал я про себя:
I thought to myself:
Это бог - ради человеков, чтобы их просветить,
This is God for the sake of people to enlighten them,
Дабы поняли сами, что они -это скот, и только!
In order to understand themselves that they are cattle, and nothing!
Ибо участь сынам человека и участь скоту-
For the fate of the sons of man and the fate of the cattle
Одна и та же им участь:
The same fate to them:
Как тому умирать, так умирать и этим,
How to die, so die and with this,
И одно дыханье у всех, и не лучше скота человек;
And everyone has one breath, and no better a person;
Ибо всё-тщета.
For everything is a secret.
Всё туда же уходит,
Everything goes there
Всё - из праха, и всё возвратится в прах;
Everything is from dust, and everything will return to dust;
Кто знает, что дух человека возносится ввысь,
Who knows that the spirit of a person is ascended up
А дух скота - тот вниз уходит, в землю?
And the spirit of cattle - he goes down, into the ground?
Я увидел: нет большего блага, чем радоваться своим делам,
I saw: there is no greater good than rejoice at your affairs,
Ибо в этом и доля человека, -
For this is the share of man -
Ибо кто его приведет - посмотреть, что будет после?
For who will lead him - to see what will happen after?
